1. Getting a fantastic package of goodies after a very long week at work from your Secret Pal. Filled with organic dark chocolate, two bars of handmade soap wrapped in an antique hankerchief, a great little notepad with my initial on it, a calendar with lovely pictures and thoughts for each month, a mug (which I've already used and is in the dishwasher) with one of my favorite poems on it (How DID you know?) and two skeins of ArtYarns merino, which I had been anxious to try out.
2. Having my boy back home from camp..... where he's apparently learned a lot. While I had been going down and riding, I was a little bit anxious about getting him home - was it all about Ruth, trainer extraordinaire?? Apparently not. We had a great morning ride in the arena. We walked, running walked and loped. We worked on various speeds, with pivot turns on the fly around the barrels set up. We worked on a back-stop-pivot turn-and-go maneuver. And I generally enjoyed the little man's company. (Can you see all his new muscles in his chest? He's a total hard-body these days. Well, as hard-body as you can be and still be a teenager.)
3. And finally, but certainly not the least of which, happiness is having a great set of old and new blog friends who stopped by to send condolences for the passing of a dear friend. Thank you all - it meant a lot to me.
