Orchid Lace Scarf
I pressed on to get Sharon's scarf finished up for the Orchid Lace set this weekend. We had a large snowstorm come through Friday night into Saturday, thus rendering much outdoorsy stuff not a'happening. Lots of good knitting time, however, in front of the fire and I got the Orchid Lace Scarf finished up. It's going in the mail today.
Pics are not the greatest for the colorway, since it's early o'clock here, but you get the general idea, I'm sure:
And a closeup:
PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS
- Pattern: Orchid Lace Scarf from Knitspot.
- Yarn: Hand-dyed Wooly Wonka Merino/Tencel in "Desert Rose" colorway.
- Needles: US size 5 bamboo.
- Modifications: None.
- Overall, I enjoyed knitting this up. Probably not suitable for a beginning beginner, but otherwise, do-able if you place markers appropriately and go carefully and slowly until the pattern is established. Long-time lace knitters will find this a fairly easy knit. My only gripe (and this is just me, and true for any pattern in which you need to have a specific directionality) is the stretch of kitcheners to graft the two pieces together. I viewed it as a necessary evil, because otherwise, the scarf came out wonderfully drapey and soft and I think will be beautiful as a winter accessory.
Enjoy, Sharon!
All for now.....
