FO: Center Diamond Scarf
Finally! It is done, done, done!!
Project Specs:
- Pattern: Large Rectangle with Center Diamond Pattern Shawl from Victorian Lace Today
- Yarn: Rowan Kid Silk Haze - 2 skeins - colorway Liquor (# 595). I didn't use all of the second skein; there's probably half left over - if anyone can use it for another project, please let me know and I'll be happy to send it to you.
- Needles: Size 7 US bamboo
- Modifications: I made this significantly smaller than the original. I only worked 4 diamonds across the body of the scarf. Finished dimensions for this project wound up at 15-1/2 x 60 inches after a light blocking.
- Notes: OMG - I thought I would never finish this thing. I was distinctly unmotivated through most of it, and I have no clue why. I like the yarn and the color and working lace. What the heck was my problem? This was not a particularly difficult knit. I would rate it fine for moderate beginners who have knit some lace. Picking up the edging stitches is about it for technical stuff.
Slightly less artsy shot for those who want to see the details:
Liz - remind me of your snail mail addy so I can send this along to you, K?
All for now......

And what lovely lovely details they are! Nicely done.

Sometimes the repetition gets to you. Maybe it was that. But it IS beautiful. The KSH must feel great.

Oooh so very pretty! You must be so glad to have it done. I love your WIP queue - it seems like it's very motivating to get things done, I might have to try something similar. =)

Lucky Liz Indeed! now see, get buried in deadlines, wake up slightly grumpy on a sat morn, because dearest husband has still not scrubbed the kitchen floor, as he had promised all week, and there is not milk for coffee or tea (most displeasing) and decide the best thing to do, really, is to retreat to the studio and read some blogs I have not been able to do all week it seems, and lo and behold, the grumpy mood has been banished... by a gorgeous Diamond pattern shawl from Anne... wow, talk about a mood enhancer!

So delicate and pretty, but knowing the yarn, it will be deceptively warm too. Lucky Liz! It is odd how some projects are so hard to finish, and it seems only the notion of the finished product keeps you going. Sometimes I think with lace projects that change motifs occasionally it's easier to stay motivated.
