Project #1 - Trinity Vest
I am about 5 inches into the body of this. The vest is knit back and forth over all the body stitches up to the arm holes, and then the fronts and backs are worked separately. I am very happy with the hand and drape of this fabric - it's not super stiff, and I think it shows off the handspun quite nicely.
Goal: Knit up to the 11-inch mark and see if this is long enough for me to start the arm holes.
Project #2: Jackson Square Socks
You saw a picture of these yesterday. These are the socks I'm designing for Nancy's farm store.
Goal: Get the leg charted and finish knitting the leg down to the heel.
All my other WIPs are on hold, except for the BIG knitting project - that is, the knitting together of the dog's leg bone. She had been doing pretty well, but over the long weekend in the car, and some time without her Elizabethan collar on, she irritated the skin just at the elbow of that leg where the cast was rubbing against it. We had a trip to the vet on Monday when we got back in town, and they cut the front part of the cast off, leaving sort of a U-shaped cast shape which they then taped back onto her leg, after covering the skin ulcer at the bend in her elbow. She's a lot more comfortable and is moving her leg more freely. She's also started using it to balance herself up and down the stairs, or when she sits up, so I think it's on the mend. We are back to the vet next Monday for some followup x-rays to see when she can get the cast off.
She's been pretty patient about having to wear the plastic collar, but she bangs around into the walls and furniture a lot, so I've moved her into my office on her big comfy bed while I work.
D is mortified his rough-and-tumble dog has a hot pink bandage on it, although the vet said "Well, she IS a girl, you know!" Heh. She looks pretty cute in it, but I'm sure we'll ALL be glad when it comes off.
All for now....

Poor pup! I remember our old cat going up and down stairs with a cast.....really kind of funny the way he "counterbalanced" against the wall. I used that trick when I found myself in a cast several years ago!
Trinity is looking very interesting!

Poor puppy!!
I can't believe how fast you are. You are a knitting machine girl.

The depth of color in your handspun and the depth of texture in Trinity is a great match. I can't fathom how you managed to work on a new design on tiny needles while traveling down the road!
Rowan does look more comfortable and perky, but then the day you took the original photos of her cast had to be pretty traumatic.

I love the pink cast1 She's so stylish. I hope she gets through the healing process quickly.

You spun that? It's gorgeous.
Hope the girl gets better soon!

Poor Rowan. That picture makes me so sad, although she doesn't look too distressed. Pink is a very cheery color, after all! Trinity is looking good!!! You can see how well the knitted fabric is going to drape even in the photo.

Oh, puppy! She probably doesn't think so, but she looks adorable. Looks like a lovely start to the vest.

I have borrowed the LL book from the library and so, am watching with interest as you construct Trinity--love all that texture!
poor Rowan--I'm sure she is getting lots of TLC..

Oh that poor dog. Having the cast is bad enough but adding that collar is the pits. I bet she'll be happy when all of it is off!

Nice - this vest will be a delight!
Rowan is on her way...tho it seems to take forever.

Trinity is off to a great start! Rowan looks pretty mortified wuth her situation. She can have all the cookies Boogie's Mick doesn't get.

That is such a poignantly sad picture of a barely happy dog.
Trinity stitch is a nice one for a vest.
