Since I've been doing a lot of either spinning or Sekret Projek Nitting, I've been indulging in some good books via Audible, downloaded to my Kindle. I've found a few that I had vaguely remembered thinking "Oh yeah... I want to read THAT", and through the magic of Amazon's "recommended for you" list, a few things I didn't know about, but I am always in the market for a good read.
Do you have a great book you just could not stop reading? Or one that you've read and re-read and you love as a 'classic' on your bookshelf? Doesn't have to be an Audible book. I'm happy to read things in print too, but I would love to have suggestions from blog-readers on things they've enjoyed.
Right now, I'm reading Bone Rattler, a recommendation from my Da, who likes historical fiction as much as I do usually.
And I'm listening to A Game of Thrones as an Audible book (32 hours or something - that should keep me occupied for a few days anyway, eh?). And I have Charles de Lint's Moonheart up next in the queue.
All for now....
Hi Anne! My favorites are Hobbit / Lord of the Rings, Once and Future King, Anne McCaffrey's Dragonsong / Dragonsinger / Dragondrums, and the Cadfael series. To Kill a Mockingbird is available, although maybe only on CD, with Sissy Spacek reading. Also the entire Robert Jordan series to date, if you like fantasy. OH! Also the Patrick O'Brian fiction series about the Royal Navy in Napoleonic times.

I loved The Help though in book form.

I just finished The Book Thief, which was wonderfully done. I also really enjoyed Tina Fey's book, Bossypants. If you're a fan of her, you'll definitely want to pick it up, and I've heard that she reads the audiobook.

I've heard Bone Rattler is very good. I've been on a Kate Atkinson kick. Her series is quite good and very funny.

Currently rereading, for the third time, The Beekeeper's Apprentice. It is a mystery. I can't tell much or it will spoil the story, but it is the first in a series and it involves Sherlock Holmes. Very Good!

Don't forget that lots of library systems now have audiobooks for download. I must check out BoneRattler. I am listening to Our Mutual Friend, by Charles Dickens. Those serialized 19th century books make good listening, since the were written so that a chapter came out each month. I can take weeks off and get right back in. Which is good, since it is 34 hours long!
