Somewhere in time's own space
There must be some sweet pastured place
Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow
Some paradise where horses go,
For by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again.
Stanley Harrison
A bright light went out of our lives Sunday night. Sam was a great horse, a stalwart trail partner, and one of my best friends. He will be missed.

Oh no! I'm so sorry...

I am so sad to hear this. I know how devoted you are to your horse friends, and I know the loss of a friend like that is profoundly sad. Sending comforting thoughts to you and your family (including the other horses).

I am so sorry for your loss. In some ways, it's harder to lose an animal friend than a human one. With you, Sammy had the best life he could have: he was loved.

Sweet photos indeed. I love the ones you picked. He will be missed even by those of us who didn't get to know him in person.
