With all the intense knitting I've been doing, I've been working really hard NOT to develop any repetitive motion-type injuries. I do try to sit up straight when I knit, give myself breaks, stretch out my shoulders, wrists and hands. I did realize this week, however, that I wind up tensing my right shoulder oddly while I knit. (And I'm sure it's contributed to by the weight of the project I'm working on - I've never noticed this with lace or sock-weight things, so it may be enhanced by flopping around a large piece of knitting.)
Or maybe I could just use a relaxing massage...... (this is an oldie, but so help me, I laugh everytime I watch it).
All for now.....
Large pieces of knitting cause more stress, but your advice is good for any repetitive activity. Thanks for the reminder.

That is hilarious! I had never seen it.
Wendy of Knit & Tonic has posted a couple articles and link about preventing knitting injuries lately. I've got them bookmarked to read when I get a few minutes.

Love the video! Thanks for the chuckle.
Two things that have helped me:
1. Sometimes propping a throw pillow under my troubled arm helps. I think just because it positions it somewhat differently. Alternately one in your lap to bring the weight of the project closer to the needles can be helpful too.
2. Laying on my back over something along the length of my spine. You can use a rolled up hand towel and work your way up to a bath sheet or larger. Lay it the length of the spine and let your arms lay out in a lazy T to your sides. It stretches your pecs which often get too tight when working on things with weight out in front of you. Tight pecs can cause pain in the shoulders, upper back and neck. I try to do that for a minimum of 15 minutes twice daily. If I'm in marathon mode I'll add another one or two slightly shorter sessions.
It sounds like you're doing things right though! Keep it up!
