My electric blue safari/striped zebra socks are done!
Project Specs:
Pattern: Included in the kit with the yarn from Knitter's Brewing Company. This is a fairly simple pattern: Garter-stitch toes and heels, using short rows to make the sock stripe, and a ruffled cuff. Knit toe-up.
Yarn: Also included with the Safari kit, it's the Sock-aholic sock yarn (merino superwash/nylon blend) in the "Electric Blue" colorway. There's a lot of yardage per skein, and I could have almost made these knee-highs if I had chosen to.
Needles: Size 1 US DPNs.
Size: Women's 7-9 shoe size (medium-ish).
Notes: No modifications made. I followed along with the pattern to be sure I got pointy zebra stripes, rather than the usual spiraling stripes. You can also see Christina's pair on her blog; we did these as a KAL together, although we picked different colorways.
These are having a rest post-bath, but otherwise, they are done!
All for now....
Wow...those are so cool and I love the ruffled top. ;)

YAY! It feels so good to finish up a knit. The socks are fabulous and unique!

Oh, those are really nice! Given a pot of hair dye, I'm sure a zoo could create an electric-blue zebra!

I do love the electric blue. Maybe you should wear them to knitting on Thursday :)

Very cool effect with that yarn! I haven't made socks in soooo long, but maybe that would be a good knitting project to take to Maine in August. Or a kid sweater.

I have only made five pairs of socks in my life and, for some reason, toe-up scares me. Maybe because I don't yet completely understand the whys of what I'm doing and just blindly follow the pattern????

Fun socks!! How is it that they remind me of argyles, but much more fun.
