I finished up the Shaelyn Shawl last night and got it off the needles. It's had a bath and blocked out quite nicely, IMHO.
PROJECT SPECS:
Pattern: Shaelyn Shawl (linky-dink above). I wound up knitting this exactly as written. Those last rows start eating yarn pretty quick, so I would have been not-quite-there to get another couple of rows out of the yarn I had left. So this is 4 pattern repeats, plus the edging. Finished size after blocking was 24" deep x 48" wingspan.
Yarn: Handspun 2-ply BFL from Funky Carolina. The colorway is "Alicia", a very pale almost solid lavender/purple. I had 340 yards from 4 ounces and I used somewhere between 320 and 325 to finish this.
Needles: US size 7 circs.
Mods: None.
This is off in a box to my team leader's mum this weekend. I was actually very happy with the size. It covers your shoulders but doesn't hang very far down in the back, which I think is perfect for someone in hospital for a little extra warmth, but you don't have to struggle with it on and off either.
All for now......
Simply gorgeous! The subtle color changes in the handspun work perfectly in this pattern.

It came out great! I agree, the size should be great for someone in a hospital bed.
