Making progress on the Shaeyla shawl. I have worked all the "regular" body repeats as called for in the pattern as written, and I'm ready to start the last lacey border.
I weighed out the yarn I've got left, but I don't have quite enough to do another full repeat of the lace, then the stockinette band, and then the edging.
So it looks like I'll add on the edging, and if it seems really too small (it's sort of borderline now), then I'll work some math magic and see if I can do more rows of the lace and make the border a little wider, I think. I knew going in this was only going to be a small shawlette/shoulder shawl with the 330 or so yards I had of the handspun, but I do want to make it as large as I can.
My boss said this will be perfect for her mum, who is always cold. She just went into hospital yesterday for the first of her CyberKnife surgical treatments to her hips, so I'm hoping I can get this finished up, blocked and in the mail to them this week!
All for now....
You are a very generous knitter. The shawl is beautiful and will make a lovely gift of comfort.

Great shawl. Really lovely! I think this might push you up and over your yard limit for the year (didn't you only need 11000 this year)? Last night I had a no-knitting evening. So nice.

Looks like you're making good progress, especially considering your busy weekend. I'll bet it's going to be truly cherished by the recipient.

I'm sure the shawl will be well-loved! And isn't it funny all of the strange math and measurements we go through when trying to use every last scrap w/o running out!

It will do wonderfully for the stated purpose. Lovely.

What a lovely shawl - I'm sure it will be well appreciated. And you can always block the bejeezus out of it. ;-)
