The following is a public service announcement: Go RIGHT NOW and get yourself a flu shot if you have not already done this for this season.
I finally went to the doctor on Friday, and tested positive for the flu (influenza A), and while I was far too many days into it for Tamiflu to do any good, I did get some heavy-duty cough syrup so I actually slept through most of the nights this weekend, which did me a world of good. I am still not back to 100%, and this will be 15 days now with symptoms, so GO GET A FLU SHOT. Trust me - you do not want this one.
I spent a pretty quiet weekend. The weather was beautiful, but I was really not up to taking Bhen, the Rocket, out for a ride, so D worked on his ongoing winterizing project for his woodshop and did some outdoor chores, and I mostly holed up in the house with the cat and my tea and some knitting projects.
I finished up the Arachne Cowl and got that blocked. I think it came out quite pretty - a nice, warm, but lacey accessory out of Snowshoe Farm's 100% alpaca yarn. I'll tackle the matching mitts next and hopefully have a pattern ready to roll in another few weeks.
And here's a closeup so you can see the pretty amber beads I tucked into the stitches.
I also worked my way through some housekeeping and paperwork for the next Ennea Collective mag (due out on February 15th or thereabouts), and got some photographs of some other designs that are currently under wraps, so I can get those patterns finished up as well.
I'll be back tomorrow with another little goodie I started and finished on Saturday!
All for now.....
Feel better fast, Anne.
It is SO hard to photograph the beads. Beautiful and I embiggened.

So thankful you're feeling better and found some relief. A friend of mine has been down for a week and ended up in with an overnight hospital stay from dehydration. It's a bad, bad bug!!
The cowl looks so beautiful and soft, too!

Feel better, Anne! Are we all set on the Ennea project? Ready for more, if you have anything.

Thanks for the close up - without it I wouldn't have seen the beads. What a great little project. I love the yarn you picked as well.

Oh noes! I did get a flu shot this year - my first shot in about 8-10 years. However, I've only had the flu once, which was when I was around 10, and I'm not exactly at high risk. I only got it this year because with my mother living in a senior living center, it was probably wise.

I really hope you are feeling better soon. 15 days with symptoms?! Yikes!
The cowl is lovely.

The cowl is lovely. I am glad you got some sleep. Already had the flu. It was worse than my chemotherapy treatments and that's saying something.

Hope you're feeling better now! This is actually the first year I've ever gotten a flu shot - glad I did. Half my office is quite sick (and still coming to the office to work). Every time I get back to my desk from the kitchen or bathroom I grab my hand sanitizer.

LOVE the cowl, especially those wonderful little buttons!!! I agree with you on the flu shot - I have asthma, and I can testify that in the 15 or so years that I've been getting my flu shot, I haven't ended up in the ER one time. I'm glad you have an answer to what's going on and are on the way to recovery.

Jeesh! I know you will be better but still worrying! I have gotten the flu shot for years (I'm aging!) because I had it once and said that's enough for me.
Warm but snowy hugs from NH!
